I have two prints in the upcoming 100 Prints 2012 fundraising event. Get your ticket and you can
have a chance to get one of my prints or over 90 others. One of them is below. It’s titled
“Interrupting Silence”, a monotype on paper, and I created it in the months after the
workshop in Santa Fe.

Ron Pokrasso’s monotype demonstration. This workshop extended my technique in monotype printing with Akua inks and I’m planning to revise my course that I teach at Open Studio. I’ve already shared it with one of my students.

I’m contemplating Santa Fe, New Mexico for a summer workshop, as a student. It seems like such an intriguing place, and the change in scenery can truly take me out of my creative block – something that comes and goes but never disappears. I just need a change.
It was a small class, with 4 students, and I was grateful that Jill at Open Studio allowed the class to run. I think everybody was happy with their outcome. A couple students have returned and purchased some mylar plates to work with. One of the students expressed an interest in hiring me to do a private workshop, which would be great. I really like teaching the monotype class. I learn from my students too. (Feb. 20, 2011)
A slow start in my monotypes but I think I got a couple of good prints. A controlled chaos on the print surface. Once I got going though, I had to clean-up. (Feb. 6, 2011)
